Frederick Randall, Principal

Mr. Randall joined Sizer School, A North Central Charter Essential School, in July 2018.  He has spent the last 25 years making schools better places for kids, their families, and the adults who teach in them.

The following information was released as his biography:

I have been a public school educator in Massachusetts for over twenty years. I have had the privilege of serving in many capacities during my career.  I have served as a before/after school teacher and site coordinator, tutor, coach, special education teaching assistant, classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, central office director and charter school director.  I am a student-centered, data driven decision maker who is deeply committed to working collaboratively with all school community stakeholders to ensure the best possible student achievement.  Two of my favorite career highlights, so far, are leading my middle school to a commendation award from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and my current charter school to a five year unconditional charter renewal this year!

I am happily married to my wife, Cherie, who is a professional artist/painter; she continues to add beautiful color to my life.  We are the proud parents of two daughters, Rose (13) and Julie (11).  They keep us busy, laughing and are my two proudest accomplishments in life!
I graduated from Wayland High School in Massachusetts and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania.  I completed my graduate studies (M.Ed.) at Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I have completed doctoral courses at Johns Hopkins University and the University of New England.  My two favorite higher education highlights include winning a department honor on my senior thesis at Allegheny and department honors at Lesley for my cumulative action research project that I presented at a NELMS conference in Providence, RI.

My favorite hobbies include reading, lifting weights, playing with our family dog (black lab named Daisy Mae Doolittle), and spending time with my family.  Growing up, my major interest was athletics.  Two of my personal sports highlights include playing semi-professional football for the Middleboro Cobras and winning an Eastern Football League Super Bowl Ring and wrestling in college.
