Accessing Parent Portal as a Parent/Guardian

Logging in to the Sizer School PowerSchool Portal often causes some confusion for new users. This is because there are two types of accounts, one for students and one for parents. The process of logging in to the site is entirely different for parents. The reason for this difference is so that you can access information about all of your students at Sizer School with one login.

When you receive your PowerSchool login credentials you will see that there are parent access credentials and student login credentials. The student login process is simple, the student merely enters their Student access ID and password and they are logged into the site.

Parent access works differently. When you first go to the site you will need to create an account for yourself. The access information you have been given is not for logging in. Rather, the information is for connecting your student(s) to your PowerSchool account.

The images below illustrate the process of creating a parent account. Remember, you will be choosing your username and password and then connecting students to your account using the parent access information that has been given to you. All parents, even if they only have one child in our school, need to create an account to use the site. More than one parent (or relative) per family can create an account.

Typing your PowerSchool parent access ID and password into the login screen will not work.

As a parent or guardian, you now have the ability to grant access to relatives (grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc) by giving them the parent/guardian access id and password for a student. They would then have to create their own account and enter the access ID and password information you gave them. Before doing this, please be aware that they will have all the same information access privileges as you. You will have to decide if that is appropriate.

Friday Flash September 5, 2014

Welcome to the first Friday Flash of the new school year! We are so excited to be sending it to you from our new, permanent home on Rindge Road.

The Flash aims to keep the school community up-to-date with school news, events, deadlines, student work…and anything else we think you’d like to know. Please go over it with your student every week; they will have seen it in their advisory and may be able to tell you more details about what you are reading.

Highlight for next week: Back-to-school night is Thursday, September 11, from 5-7 pm. See the Flash for details.

Have a great weekend, and we can’t wait to see everyone again on Monday!

Breaking News: Monday's Soccer games and Cross-Country meet have been postponed and are currently being rescheduled. These teams WILL have practice on Monday.

2014 Summer Reading

Summer is here!  Are you looking for something to do?

All of our NCCES students were given the gift of reading as we closed out the school year.  Each student chose one of five choice books, but there's no reason to stop at one...

THEIR ASSIGNMENT:  Come back to school ready to talk and listen about the people and places you encountered in your story, through the lens of the Essential & Guilding Questions.

Join the students!  Please take a minute to review the attached list of choice books and join NCCES in reading about what it takes to Think*Care*Act!
