In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.

-Albert Camus

Happy Friday!

We had a wonderful experience in the school atrium yesterday, check the front page of the Flash for details.

There are a number of new opportunities available at school, please go over the Flash with your student to be sure they are taking advantage of what Sizer School has to offer!

We'd love to see everyone come to a basketball game here at school, and we've highlighted this week's home games on the athletics page.  Before you head upstairs to the game, visit the display cases in the lobby to see a selection of student art work that's for sale.  Half  of each purchase price goes to the artist, the other goes towards buying permanent benches that will be installed in front of the school.

Have a great weekend (careful of the weather!) and we'll see you back here on TUESDAY.

"Let us love winter, for it is the spring of genius."

                                                        -Pietro Aretino

We hope everyone had a fun and/or restful holiday break.  Students and teachers are back, and hard at work.

Check the Flash for news on academics and school and community events.

Please remember this coming Wednesday, January 13, is a half-day for students.  Dismissal is at noon, and there is no supervision available after school.

Have a great weekend, and we'll see back on Monday.

Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.

 Edith Sitwell

There are divided opinions about whether we're liking this non-wintery weather or not, but winter is coming. Please check the Flash for news on various endeavors our community members are involved with that are trying to share comfort, food, warmth, and companionship with those who may be without.

We hope you've set some time aside this weekend to come support SiTA (Sizer Theater Arts) in their fall production, All in the Timing. This weekend's  performances feature student-directed work, and they would love to see a packed audience!  See the Flash for details.

Lots more in the Flash-please go over it with your student, and have a great weekend.

Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content.

-Helen Keller

There are many opportunities in this week's Flash to bring Think*Care*Act to life this month, and we would love your participation in any or all of them.

One way to help is to bring some canned goods or non-perishable food items to tomorrow's Winter Benefit at 11 am in the Sizer cafetorium.  There will be a number of performances to enjoy from 11-12:30.  All goods collected will be given to the Sizer School Food Pantry, which assists families right in our own community.  We hope you can come!

Check out the Flash for class news, club updates, opportunities to help, and much more. Please help make sure your student is aware of these opportunities.  And be sure to make plans to see our student-directed plays next weekend!

Have a great weekend, and we'll see you all on Monday.

"What makes night within us may leave stars."

-Victor Hugo, Ninety-Three

Boys and girls basketball teams just finished up their first scrimmages of the year, here at home in our beautiful gym.  Wow and Phew, it's going to be quite a season!  Check the schedule each week to see when you can come to a game and be part of the White Tiger excitement.

Please take some time to read the front page article about the evolution of the Sizer School portfolio.  Then join us next Wednesday night, Dec. 9 at 6:30 in the cafeteria to hear more about portfolio, and see what else is happening at Sizer School.

Have a great weekend, and we can't wait to see everyone again on Monday.
