"Our footprints always follow us

On days when it's been snowing.
They always show us
Where we've been,
But never where we're going."
-Winnie the Pooh
The Sizer Elves are back with opportunities to help make the holidays a little brighter for our community.  Please see the Flash for the details.
Thank you to the Art Club for participating on Sizer School's behalf in the Townsend Library Festival of Trees.  See the Flash for what theme they chose to represent our community this year.
Dual enrollment students: the deadline to register for the spring semester is coming up. More information can be found (you guessed it!) in the Flash.
Have a safe, warm weekend and we'll see everyone back here on Monday.

Wednesday Whirlwind November 27, 2019

I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.

-Carl Gustav Jung
Your Wednesday Whirlwind is attached.
Thank you to all our community members who participated in the Spaghetti Supper last Friday.  We'll have a recap and pictures next week!
We wish everyone a safe, warm, and peaceful Thanksgiving break, and we'll see you back here on Monday.

All I can control is myself and just keep having a positive attitude.

- Rose Namajuans, UFC mixed martial artist
We are so excited about tonight's Spaghetti Supper!  It's one of the very few fundraisers that our PTSO asks families to engage in, and it's a great community event. Sizer parent Tonya Peters, owner of Force Defense and Fitness in Holden, spent the entire day here Wednesday wrapping up the advisory baskets, and they are stunning and filled with great stuff!

Messaging Task Force Survey

Sizer Community

A Note from the Sizer School Messaging Task Force

Good Day Sizer Community,

During the development of the 2019-2024 Sizer Strategic Plan, Sizer School used a Theory of Change model to guide our work. The plan’s Theory of Change is:

WHEN we renew and reinvigorate our most effective teaching and learning practices; continue and deepen our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusiveness, and our supports for all students; and communicate and connect with our community effectively,

THEN we will graduate inspired, passionate, creative leaders and life-long learners who THINK for themselves, CARE about others, and ACT creatively and responsibly.

One of the first year goals of our Strategic Plan is to unify Sizer’s message by developing some commonly understood and communicated talking points about the school so we can consistently communicate internally and externally: who we are, what we do, and why we matter.

To help in this work, the Task Force wants to better understand our community’s current thoughts on these questions. We’ve developed a quick survey to gather this information. To help us understand your view of the school, please take a few minutes to complete our Messaging Survey.

It should only take a few minutes. The results of the survey will be tabulated and used as community members develop the messages that best describe Sizer. Your comments are confidential and no individual will be identified in the results.

"I didn't come this far to only come this far."

Attached please find your Friday Flash for this week.
Sunday, Sizer is hosting an amazing opportunity for girls who play basketball, or have even THOUGHT about playing basketball. From 2:00-6:30 on Sunday, there is a FREE basketball mini camp for any girls in grades 7-12.  According to Ms. May, "this is a GREAT opportunity.  Zach McCall is a very highly respected member of the Fitchburg community.  He is a highly accomplished athlete who is now a leader on the frontlines of public safety in our community." Registrations will be accepted up until the mini camp starts. See the Flash for more details.
Next Friday is the annual Spaghetti Supper, a highlight of the Sizer School year.  It's a wonderful community event, with food, raffle baskets, and the chance to be served by our volunteer students.  If you order your tickets ahead of time, you'll also save money!  Please remember Advisory Basket items are due by Tuesday, when we'll start wrapping them up.
We hope everyone has an excellent weekend!
